The purpose of the Choose Your Journey workshops at WERC is to help women build the skills, confidence, and clarity they need to move forward in their employment or personal development goals. This free, six-week program offers a supportive, hands-on learning environment where participants explore workplace expectations, communication, emotional intelligence, time management, and more—while identifying their strengths and interests.

At the Women’s Employment Resource Centre (WERC), job search services are designed to provide supportive, empowering guidance while encouraging clients to take an active role in their employment journey. Through one-on-one counselling, clients receive expert advice on resumes, cover letters, interviews, and job applications—but are also equipped with the tools, strategies, and confidence to lead their own job search. WERC’s approach blends practical support with personal accountability, creating a collaborative environment where women are supported, but also encouraged to take ownership of their future.

When accessing services at the Women’s Employment Resource Centre (WERC), you can expect a welcoming, supportive, and confidential environment designed to empower women on their journey toward employment and personal growth. Upon your first visit, you’ll meet with a trained Employment Counsellor for an intake appointment, where you’ll discuss your goals, experiences, and any barriers you may be facing. Together, you’ll create a personalized employment action plan that may include career exploration, job search strategies, resume development, interview preparation, and referrals to workshops or training programs such as Choose Your Journey.
